Happy for the weekend

I am so happy it is the weekend and I am off from both part time jobs. That is way cool indeed!
I got up this morning around 9:15 am after going to bed around 1:30 am. Katy and I captured Justin and we ran our errands and then went to eat at Cracker Barrell. While sitting next to an elderly couple I could not help but overhear the gentleman getting directions on the cell phone. He told whomever it was he was talking to that he was having a hard time hearing them and that after their meal that they would call them back from the car for further directions. I asked them if they were looking for something in particular in Charleston and they said that they were in town to visit their grand daughter who is a college student here locally. I asked them what the address was and then decided to go get the laptop out of the car and utilize the Street Atlas 2006 software to help them find their way.
The gentleman was thankful but told me that he did not want me interrupting my lunch to help him. I told him it was ok, I was waiting for the main course to arrive and in the mean time I could have fun killing some time by playing around with the new software. I am not that familiar with it yet and I figured this would give me a good excuse to help someone as well. I also told them that the reason that I had the toys I have was so that I could help others in need as well. I think that Katy rolled her eyes and the couple next to us laughed and asked Katy how many times she has heard that over the years. LOL... Anyway, address was found and they took copious notes and thanked me again and again for the assistance.
Once that was done we zoomed over to Mall drive to catch the new movie Flight Plan with Jodie Foster. On a scale of one to ten with 1 being "it sucked" and 10 being "it rocked" I would have to give the movie a 9. One of the reasons that I gave it a 9 and not a 10 is because there was no sex, violence or bad language. I mean, come on, how in the world can I give a movie without those qualities a 10? Someone would surely hunt me down and shoot me on the spot for that. LOL... Anyway, no, the movie was relatively safe to take kids too in my humble opinion. I am sure that others may disagree with me. I think that the rating is PG13. Of course, ten years ago PG13 was much safer to view vs now. Ten years ago a PG13 movie was consider X rated.
Ok, lets fast forward past happy nappy time to 6 pm whence I was jerked out of my orbit around Pluto by my friend zoom zoom. Zoom zoom lives in Mt Pleasant and was waking me from slumber to verify that I wanted to still consume massive quantities of wings and alcoholic beverages. At this point I was more in the mood for a cup of decaf coffee and french vanilla creamer but I did want to see zoom zoom so off I went in my sliver bullet to zoom over to Mt Pleasant. How many times can I use the word zoom in a sentence. LOL.
Once I arrived zoom zoom had already staked her claim to a table and was munching on some chips, cheese and salsa dip. We consumed more food than I should have eaten and even managed to save some carrot cake for Gizmo which of course I forgot in the mens restroom on the way out. Sigh... Sorry bout that gizmo...
Zoom zoom and I got into the silver bullet and I allowed her to be the navigator and use the laptop and the GPS device and Street Atlas software to find our way down to downtown Charleston and MUSC. I tried to show Patty (aka zoom zoom) how nifty the satellite radio is when it decided to not work. I am hopeful that the entire Sirius Satellite Network is having some technical difficulties since I could not pick up squat. I called the phone number or Sirius and could only get the automated prompts from voice hell. Push 1 for "we sorry the service is down and we might care" push 2 for " is the service really down, we did not know" and on and on the selections went with NO human to talk to. Go figure folks, more wonderful customer service. NOT. I think that at this point Sirius is having some SERIOUS problems. LOL
Speaking of customer service how happy can I be having become customers of Comcast Cable again. NOT. I paid my past due amount around the end of August and asked them what specials they were running. They told me " We are running a special for 29.95 for three months for digital cable, after that three months the digital subscripition will go to full price." I was thinking, ok, I just paid them for the installation and a month of service up front so that should take me to December of this year. I got my first bill from them and it was for 66.00 which is digital cable at the regular rate PLUS taxes.
I called customer service after picking myself up off the floor and asked for the billing department. I spoke with a lady who told me that utility companies always bill 30 days in advance to make sure that if someone stops paying for the service that they wont get screwed for a full month of service. I was also told that once I paid for the full month plus installation that the first bill always reflects the subscription rate at the regular charge (not the promotional charge) pro rated to however amount of days during the first month when it was turned on. So, I told the lady that was fine and good but that is not what I was sold nor was it what I agreed to. I agreed to paying 29.95 for 3 months PERIOD. I might as well have been talking to Barney at this point. You know, Barney the singing dinasour. I love you, you love me, we are all a happy family... NOT.... So, my friend zoom zoom told me this evening that I need to speak to the customer relations dept at Comcast and see if I can get past the front line billing clerks and get some sort of satisfaction. Wish me luck!!!!!
