Camp Happy Days is almost upon us...

I bet Flash is thinking something entirely different at this point of the game aye?? Ya probably would like to postpone that circus for another 12 weeks if you could huh?

My children are bouncing off the walls with excitement. I think that Kristina has packed her bags atleast 10 times. I walked past her bedroom the other night and she and Justin were trying to figure out how to fit an elephant into this bag and still get it closed. I could almost see something wiggling inside it. Maybe they put Sammy or Angel in the bag to see if they could smuggle them to camp. As far as that goes I would LOVE to see SAMMY the loud mouthed MUTT go to camp and stay there as the mascot YEAR round.

Sammy must be in his TERRIBLE twos now because I have an urge to KILL him atleast once per day. That is usually around 5 or 6 am every morning. Stupid dog....

As I am typing this Lulu the komikozee (spelling) cat is throwing herself from the porch ledge up against the window by the stove because she wants to get in. We just let her outside for crying out loud KITTY.... I might as well potty train her so we can skip the "let you outside and then let you back in " so she does not have to get brain damage by slinging her body against the outside of the glass window to get our attention. Goofy cat...

Katy just approached the couch and spoke to Sammy in her best authoritative voice. Sammy Moffitt, you need to go to your cage. Sammy knowing that he is not going to budge a muscle gave her the "but I am so cute and adorable puppy dog you really dont EXPECT me to go to that nasty cage tonight do you look". Katy responded by begging the dog not to wake her up at 5 am in the morning and put the dogs head on a pillow and covered him with a blanket on the couch. OH MY GOSH people. Here is how I would have handled this.

(drum roll please...). Stern look at dog from recliner where I am typing this saying, SAMMY MOFFITT get your BUTT in your cage right now.... If this did not ellicit an immediate response no matter what sort of look he gives me I would have calmly put my laptop on the table next to me and launched myself onto the couch and pinned the dog WWF style to the cushion. Then I would have picked up the pooch and fun lovingly body slammed him into the cushions a couple of times to let him I know I mean business when I talk and then I would drag him to his cage and toss him into it. LOL....

Its a good thing that I am worn out from the Pro FORM 545E elliptical trainer. The only energy I have left is in my arms and fingers which allows me to type this madness. LOL...

I keep finding out that you have to be careful about using long LINES or sentences that do not word wrap in my blog. What happens is that it pushes the column on the right all the way to the bottom of the blog. We can not have that, now can we?? :)

There, now it is fixed.... Much better now. :)

Bonding with my newest elliptical trainer

Ok, I finally did it!! I found a Pro-Form 545E elliptical trainer at Goodwill where I work and it cost me a whopping $4.99!! I had something like this about 2 or 3 years ago when we lived in Bluffton and I paid a LOT more for it than this one. The one I had in Bluffton was electrical and had more computerized workout programs and monitored my pulse etc. This one has the arm motion for cross training and is self powered. That works for me because the payment is PAID in FULL!!

It is a good thing I have been walking 1.6 miles several times per week because this gadget really gave me a workout in the short time I was on it. Here are some of the measurements it gave me about my workout this evening.

30 minutes
.88 miles
1.7 mph average speed
167.2 Calories burned
52.8 Fat calories burned

How many calories does it take to loose one pound you might ask.... Would you believe 2000 ?? LOL... That is right folks. You have to burn 2000 calories to loose one pound. That also means that while you are burning calories you need to REDUCE your calorie intake and INCREASE your water intake by 8 glasses of water per day.

Ok, now I do not have an excuse about getting a workout. I have this thing sitting in my kitchen right next to the refrigerator. I have a choice. Do I go to the refrigerator and EAT or do I climb on this thing and shed some of these unwanted pounds?? LOL... I can hear it now. You have the elliptical trainer next to your refrigerator?? Is that sort of crazy? Yes, actually it is. Then again, we are VERY limited to space and it needs to be in this part of the house so I can turn the music up when I work out.

Ok, so it is a PRO-FORM 545E elliptical trainer. LOL... Silly me!! Posted by Hello

Upgrade the FIRMWARE on your Linksys BEFSR11 or BEFSR41 Switch/router/firewall TODAY

The following Linksys Product Description tells you WHAT this device GIVES you on your home network. :)
If you have a High Speed Internet Connection I would HIGHLY recommend that you ADD this EXTRA layer of protection so that you have a HARDWARE firewall between you and the Internet. I can NOT stress this enough.

Built-In 10/100 4-Port Switch!
Supports up to 253 Users!

The Linksys EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch is the perfect option to connect multiple PCs to a high-speed Broadband Internet connection or to an Ethernet back-bone. Allowing up to 253 users, the built-in NAT technology acts as a firewall protecting your internal network.

Configurable as a DHCP server for your existing network, the EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch acts as the only externally recognized Internet device on your local area network (LAN). The router can also be configured to block internal users' access to the Internet. A typical router may have to rely on an external hub or switch to share its Internet connection, but the Linksys EtherFast® Cable/DSL with 4-Port Switch Router channels this connection through the blazing, full duplex speed of its built-in EtherFast® 10/100 4-Port Switch.

This cutting-edge combination of router and switch technology eliminates the need to buy an additional hub or switch and serves your network as a completely dedicated, full duplex backbone. Now your entire network will enjoy blazing Broadband Internet connections supported by its robust switched backbone. With the dual-function speed and power of the EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch, your network will take off at speeds faster than you ever imagined possible.

Note:
This unit requires an external Cable or DSL modem with an Ethernet RJ-45 interface.

Linksys routers can't be sniffed at any more

Firmware upgrade for all

By Fernando Cassia: Tuesday 08 June 2004, 07:00

PERHAPS HURRIED by our recent report about the BOOTP based exploit and sniffing vulnerability in popular Linksys routers like the BEFSR11 and BEFSR41, the firm has released firmware version 1.45.11, dated June 4, that specifically mentions closing the BOOTP and memory leak hole which allowed remote sniffing of TCP/IP traffic passing through the devices.

Here is a quick list of fixes, straight from the release notes:

Fixed CGI string attacks issue
Fixed UPnP on Windows XP SP2 issue
Fixed One way audio issue
Fixed NAT-T issue for some VPN connection
Fixed DHCP server revision, fill the siaddr to the server address
Fixed DHCP (BOOTP) vulnerability issue
Added Filter IDENT(port 113) to appear stealth when scanned
Added DHCP option 55 support
Fixed buffer leakage bug
Modified TCP Support RFC 3360 standard
Modified PPPoE/L2TP/PPTP fragmentation supports fragmenting 1 packet into more than 3.
Modified MTU/MRU function for better handling [of what?]
Owners of old revisions of the BEFSR41, BEFSR11 and BEFSRU31 routers, those made before the Cisco acquisition, will be happy to learn that this firmware was released for "Version 1" and "Version 2" hardware.

If you go to this link you can find the FIRMWARE upgrade for both of these routers at
Firmware upgrades for the BEFSR11 & BEFSR41 Routers ONLY....

WARNING: Do NOT do this if you are NOT POSITIVE about what VERSION of HARDWARE your Router is. The hardware version can be found on the bottom of the router next to the model number. If the version number (V2) is not there then it is assumed that it is V1. :)

Blogger Knowledge

Ok folks, there you have it. I could not have said or typed this much better myself. :) This is an EXCELLENT article about HOW you can utilize Audioblogger to ADD quality and quantity publishing content to your BLOG.

The ONLY thing that Blogger needs to do in my not so humble opinion is to make it EASIER for us to FIND other Bloggers who have the same interests or that live in the same local area as we do. A way to network one with another. Now that would be TOO cool....

Here I sit at the County Auditors office watching security monitors and the ebb and flow of humanity all around me.
Atleast I am spending my ten hour shift in front of a desk with Internet access and cold AC blowing on me. Usually when I work the 3 pm to 11pm shift at the Annex building there is NO air conditioning and I have to put up with the heat and humidity. Hopefully the maintenance folks will be kind to us and install a temporary window unit where the security scans folks for weapons before they go up to the Treasurers office. You are probably wondering WHY we do not have air conditioning in a government facility. The reason for this is because the OT Wallace building has been under construction for the last 12 months or longer. I am hopeful that in the next week or two that a temporary window AC unit will magically appear and we will feel some relief from the heat and humidity. We have been experiencing low to mid 90's and even the upper 90's on some days.

I added a Site Manager counter/tracker functionality at the bottom of my blog so that I can start tracking how many folks are visiting my Blog. I guess it would be nice to know how many hits I am getting and from whom. This site manager is free and offers basic tracking which is just fine for me. I also set up the ability to do Audio Blogging. This enables me to call a number with my cell phone and leave an audio message for my reading/listening audience. That means that if I chose to serenade you that I can. LOL.... Ok, I promise that I will not do a LOT of singing as I realize that it will cause what little readership that I do have currently to scamper away at a high rate of speed. LOL....

Thanks to Goggle I can publish in multiple formats to my blog. I can type my weblog out so you can read it OR I can post pictures for you to SEE or I can talk to you from the depths of cyberspace from my cell phone. It is a GOOD thing that my cell phone has FREE long distance. The only thing that i did not really care about is that a web browser pops up and forces you to listen to the mp3 file by clicking on a play button. I set up Winamp as my default media player which includes mp3 and was hoping that when I clicked on the audio blog that winamp would take over and play the media file. It was a nice thought but I guess since the mp3 file is located on an HTTP Web server that the website forces you to download the file BEFORE you can do anything with it.

WHAT will they come up with next ??

My FIRST Audioblog from my cell phone

this is an audio post - click to play

Dont miss Venus crossing in front of the sun

My friend Dawn sent me an e-mail about this event and I thought it was worthy of letting my reading audience in on the secret as well. I probably would not have known about it had she not sent me the e-mail. Thanks Dawn!!

SecurityFocus HOME News: Wardriver pleads guilty in Lowes WiFi hacks

SecurityFocus HOME News: Wardriver pleads guilty in Lowes WiFi hacks

Runt ro, its not nice to steal credit card numbers EVEN IF they are floating through cyberspace on a wireless connection. I guess these folks just drove themselves straight into a federal penitentiary after being STUPID.... I am glad they were caught... Keep an eye on your Lowes credit card statements for any fraudlent activity.

Maybe Lowes has figured out how to implement some security on their wireless network now that this story is out. LOL...

Silly people....

Just boot up from the SOS command or program, recover the SOS image backup and presto - everything is back exactly as you like it! SOS will not affect the performance of your system. Fully restore a crashed system in 15-30 minutes. SOS can work from Windows or from DOS mode if Windows cannot boot or function properly. SOS can even store the disk image on another drive or DVD for additional safety in the event of a crash or mechanical failure of the primary drive. SOS will also remember your software and put it back the way it was before the crash. If you have valuable data, you can save yourself from a huge amount of work after a crash. This product can truly save the day. With the proliferation of so many viruses, the potential for disk crashes has increased. You really need an inexpensive and quick way to restore your PC, apps, and valuable data. SOS is a great solution!
