Well if that is true that the Clie did not make it in the USA because we have a problem with not reading instruction manuals then I think that is a sad reflection on us. I always read instruction manuals no matter how small....whether it is for my electric toothbrush or a router for my computer. I think it is foolish and perhaps arrogant not to do so. :-)

Yes, I agree totally. If you do not know what to do or how to do it and do not have the slightest clue then the manual is a GREAT resource. It is amazing to me how many people give up at the slightest hint of a problem and refuse to read the error messages to figure out what the problem is and just assume that the product is malfunctioning or broken.
On a personal note with regards to reading manuals. I remember a time when I was first starting out with running a BBS on different types of computers with different types of hardware with different styles of BBS software. That was back when the Panasonic KXP-** 8 pin dot matrix printers were the norm and you had to use fan folded paper with the holes on the edge to print out the software manual which usually was 100+ pages. I can remember how frustrating it was when the paper would jam in the middle of the document ruining one or two pages and halting the whole process only to have to start all over again. I remember spending endless hours reading every single page of every softwar manual and that included my very first copy of Dos 5.0. Man oh man those were the days. Now I just zip around and I do not read the manual unless I really get into a jam. To me it seems more fun to dive right into something new without taking the time to read the manual. I guess to me it seems more adventuresome to discover this and that without the road map. LOL....
