Happy Thanksgiving
It is the day before Thanksgiving and all through the house the Moffitt munchkins are buzzing about getting things ready for Christmas. When I left for the bat cave this morning Kristina and Justin had a christmas tree, ornaments and all the trimmings scattered all over the living room floor. The christmas music was playing, the birds were a chirping, Katy was a singing in the kitchen, the dog and puppy were running about and of course I was on my way out the door.
No, not Bah Humbug, I am actually looking forward to the holiday season this year for some strange reason. For a fleeting moment I almost felt guilty looking forward to the holiday season and then I reminded myself that my life wont last forever and maybe it is time for me to put scrooge to rest and learn how to enjoy what we do have today. As I gaze upon the fleeting shadows of the last four years and how I have been allowing the holiday seasons to be overshadowed by Jessica's passing I am sad to say that my not enjoying them did not make it any better. It is true that our family will never be the same. The question is will I allow that fact to define who we are from here on out? In and of itself the past defines us and shapes who we are but that does not mean that we can not look up and forward into the future and try to make the best of things. Only we can shape our futures to a certain extent. Only we can make the effort necessary to make what changes we can with regards to our attitudes and outlook on life in general.
This morning I was having a chat with God about those things I am very thankful for. I try to tell God every day about how thankful I am for the things that he does for me and my family and those posessions he allows me to manage. After all, none of this stuff really belongs to me. Well, we can not take it with us when we die, right ? How many Uhaul trucks have you seen following the hearse? Here are some things I am thankful for....
My faith in God, God's love for me, God's provision, God's mercy, God's grace, God's forgiveness of my sin. I am thankful for my immediate family, wife, children and my extended family, church and friends. I am thankful for our physical, spiritual, and mental health. I am thankful for our jobs and the income that is provided to take care of our needs and some of our wants. I am thankful for my children and how good they are doing in school and their activities at church. I am thankful for Grace Fellowship Church and how it ministers to my family and allows me a place to minister to others through my gifts and talents. I am thankful for the quality and quantity that has been added to my life because of my family and friends.
I am thankful that I live in America and that I have freedoms and choices that not many folks all around the globe enjoy. I am thankful that I have the right to vote for my leaders in different levels of government. I am thankful that I am free to attend church and do not have to hide the fact that I am a christian. I am thankful that I can go to work every day and EARN a living no matter how difficult things might get. I am thankful that the Dallas Cowboys are 7-3 and at the top of the NFC East and I do not have to hide the fact that I am a fan this year. LOL...
Tomorrow we will spend time with friends and family as we come together to stuff ourselves with the goofy gobbler. I guess we should be thankful we are not winding up like the stuffed gobbler huh? Things could ALWAYS be worse. My prayer is that you have a safe, restful and enjoyable time with those that you love. I am also hopeful that the Dallas Cowboys will tame the Denver Broncos and ride them around the stadium and keep them from scoring too many points tomorrow. LOL

Live Favorites Beta
I found this and thought it was intriguing. Live Favorites Beta by Microsoft. Simply put it just allows you to keep a copy of your Favorites (URL's) from Internet exploder on the Microsoft Website. This then allows you to have your favorites available to you no matter what machine you are using as long as it has an Internet connection. Are their other ways to accomplish this? One way would be to copy your favorites from your Favorites folder onto a thumb (usb jump) drive. What other services are out there that are FREE that do the same thing? Anyway, kick the tires and take it for a spin. It probably wont stay as a FREE service for long.

Simply amazing
The weekend has come and gone and we find ourselves back at the week long grind again. As far as Mondays go this one was not too bad. I played the Maytag repairman for most of the day and my work day was relatively stress free. This evening found me in front of the TV watching SURFACE which is a new series about a scientist who has discovered a new species of life in the ocean. It is a good show if you are into that sort of thing. I remember when X files came out and how I really liked it at first. Then , before you know it the darn program got really weird and I lost interest quickly. Hopefully they (Hollywood) wont run a good thing into the ground again. LOL...
At 9pm Monday night football was the featured presentation at the Moffitt household and the kids went to bed and Katy said she was bored and went to bed early too. That means it was just me, my sunflower seeds , the crickets and frogs outside and my friend Tim on the cell phone. I normally never watch Monday night football but the Cowboys and the Eagles were matched up again for the second time this season. At the beginning of the game I figured that since Dallas was playing the Eagles in their stadium AND Dallas had kicked the feathers out of them the last time they met the Eagles were going to be on top of their game. The first 5 minutes of the first quarter found us with a tied football game 7 to 7 with the Eagles scoring first and Dallas scoring second to tie things up. Then the game turned into a defensive struggle with both teams going 3 and out and punting the ball back and forth to each other. That is when things changed for Dallas in the Second quarter when Bledsoe was blitzed by the Eagles defense and about to be sacked he throws the ball away and into the arms of one of the defenders. Once that happened the Eagles offense took over and scored a touchdown to make it 14 to 7 with the Eagles leading during the halftime.
The third quarter was dominated by the Eagles as they took the score to 20 to 7. I figured by then that Dallas was eagle fodder at this point. I figured they were goners and that was all she wrote. Along comes the fourth quarter with less than 5 minutes to go and Dallas manages to make 2 touch downs and going ahead 21 to 20. The last touchdown that Dallas made was a surprise interception by Willams off of a McNabb throw into the secondary. Williams intercepted the ball on the Eagles 35 yard line and romped into the end zone. Mcnabb, who is the Eagles quarterback thought he was going to stop Williams on his romp into the end zone during the interception and was run over by one of the Dallas linebackers which caused McNabb to further injure his sports hernia. That took McNabb out of the rest of the game which was less than 3 minutes. In the last 9 seconds of the game the Eagles attempted a 63 yard field goal which did not make it through the uprights and Dallas wound up winning the game giving them a 6-3 record in the NFC East and putting them back in first place in their division.
By all rights the Eagles dominated 75% of the game and should have won it. The Dallas defense held the Eagles to 20 points which allowed Dallas to live up to their "Cardiac Cowboys" reputation and come from behind with two quick touchdowns to win it. GO COWBOYS......
